So, I stayed up late two nights in a row working on what was going to be the most awesome Christmas card in the history of Christmas cards. Beautiful, ornate, 5×10 with a pearl finish. Yep, it was going to be gorgeous. Then I realized that Christmas is only a week away, and these things don’t even come with envelopes. By the time I actually got them out Christmas would be long over and my clients would all think I’m crazy. *sigh* I think next year I’ll start working on these in, say, August? I’m horrible with getting out Christmas cards on time (but I am going to do my Christmas shopping today!). Rather than let this awesome card go to waste, I thought I’d at least post it here for you guys to see. Merry Christmas, everyone, and have a great 2012!

I met up with Henry a couple of weeks ago for some outdoor senior photos. The weather was looking a little sketchy, but we ended up getting some sun between the clouds and it ended up being a pretty nice evening! He was a great sport as I told him to stand in bushes and behind trees and whatnot, trying to find some decent some light on a cloudy day. Here is one of my favorites so far from his session. Henry’s is one of four that I’m finishing up this week, and I figured I’d post one photo from each session for all those who are patiently waiting. Look for more to come soon!

Just a few more from Kelsey and Sarah’s senior session. Gorgeous girls, and it was a fantastic evening for photos.

Now that I’m finished up with the editing, I just wanted to post a few of my favorites from Ben’s session. Enjoy!

Just getting started on Quincy’s senior photos, and wanted to share just one quick one so far.  I can’t decide if I like the color or black and white version better, so I posted both.   More to come.  I’ve been a little behind with blogging, but hopefully I’ll have her full post up before the snow starts to fly.  :)

A few weeks ago I met up with Jon, his sister, and his mom for Jon’s senior pictures on a gorgeous Wednesday evening.  We decided to meet in the Mill City area of Minneapolis – so many awesome spots there, and I was not the only one who thought so – there were at least 3 other photographers down there taking senior pictures, too – LOL!   Definitely a popular spot, but worth the wait at the stairs.  :)  We did find a few spots where there was no one else around, which I always like to do, too.  By the end of the night I had so many photos that I just loved – it was really hard to narrow down which ones to edit.  Just posting a couple of my favorites here.

I had such a great time with you guys – thanks again, and good luck next year, Jon!

I always thought my first time shooting twins would be a pair of newborns, but I was wrong (and is it bad that I feel guilty every time I say/type/think “shooting” anything?  I need to start saying “photographing” twins – it just takes too long).  Anyways, I met up with Kelsey and Sarah last weekend for their senior photos, and they made my job so incredibly easy.  I am used to chasing around toddlers and making silly faces at babies to get a smile – it’s a nice change of pace to have someone who listens and doesn’t need to be bribed with goldfish (or an orange shake and some gum if you’re one of my own kids – that’s what we’re up to now with the bribes.  Soon it will be $20 bills…).  These girls are both absolutely stunning, and were super nice to boot.  I had a great time with them, and I can’t wait to finish up the rest of their photos!  I just had to post a couple before I leave on vacation for the week.  Enjoy!  :)

Most of the sessions booked with me are for newborns, babies, and families, which I love, but last week I decided to head out to shoot with a friend and her sister-in-law.  We wanted to get outside and enjoy the “spring” weather.  Yeah…. remember my last blog post where I said I probably jinxed us by mentioning the fact that spring might finally be here?  Well, I did.  Here it is, the end of April, and we were FREEZING!  I seriously could have used some mittens and a down jacket.  This girl was such a trooper, though – froze her butt off just so we could check out some new spots.  And even better, she really knew how to work the camera, even if she couldn’t feel her toes.   :)
