A few weeks ago I met up again with Arybella and her mom for Arybella’s 9 month photos.  She’s becoming a blondie!  You can see her 3 month photos here and her 6 month photos here.  So fun to see how much they change in that first year.  This girl always makes me work for some smiles, but I love her serious looks, too.  She’s pretty much adorable no matter what she does.  :)

Early in December I had the chance to meet up with Ellie and her family again. Last time I saw her was a little over a year ago. Her 1 year photos can be seen here – I still have that photo as a canvas hanging in the studio. She’s got a little more hair this time, and is cute as ever! I just LOVE her big smile, and had to post one to share here with everyone. Enjoy!

As the day after Christmas is winding down, my house is finally clean again (well, cleaner than it was after Christmas morning). The recycling bin is full, the leftover cookies are disappearing fast, and the kids are still on their Christmas high from all the late nights and presents. We spent the day playing with their new toys, making room for all the new toys, and making a huge pile of items to bring to GoodWill (had to get rid of stuff to make room for all the new goodies). I took most of December off to enjoy time with my family, get my holiday shopping done, and take a much needed break. I did schedule a few sessions this month, and now that Christmas is over, I’m ready to get back in the swing of things! First off – getting caught up on my blogging. Starting off with Claire’s 9 month session. Love the pig tails!!! The weather lately has been beyond awesome (I’m not one who was hoping for a white Christmas – I’m totally fine with a 40-50 degree brown Christmas). There was a tiny bit of snow on the ground for this session, but we still managed to get outside for a few family shots. Even Bruno the boxer made it in for some pics! I hope you all had a fantastic holiday – looking forward to 2012!

I met up with Brynn for her second session (her newborn photos can be seen here) at four months old.   She is still a peanut, but man, this kid is totally adorable!   Poor girl wasn’t feeling very good, but you can see form the photos that we were able to get a couple of smiles in with the more serious looks she was giving me (the get-that-camera-out-of-my-face-and-give-me-my-tylenol-and-blankie looks, as I like to call them).   I think my favorite photos from our entire session were the ones where she was just quietly resting in mom or dads arms.  Nothing seemed to make her happier, and you can tell Julie and Dave are just smitten with her.   Can’t say I blame them. :)

Grab yourself a drink and some popcorn – this is going to be a long post. :) I met Angela and Justin in August 2010 when they contacted me about doing maternity photos. I had never done a maternity session before at that point, so I was pretty excited to try something new. Angela was stunning, and these are still some of my favorite maternity photos. Fast forward a month later and Harrison was born – one of the cutest little guys you’ll ever meet! I still remember his newborn session very well – he was happy, but that boy did NOT want to sleep. Justin went out and got us some dinner (since we seemed to be in this for the long haul), and Harrison decided to pass out as we were taking a break. Once he fell asleep he was OUT. I’m not sure if I’ve ever had another baby sleep quite as soundly as he did. He turned into a squishy little ball of sleepy baby and we were able to get some awesome photos!

Next time I saw Harrison he was 6 months. Sitting up and all smiles. You’ve probably seen photos from his 6 month session posted all over my website because he was just so happy and full of great expressions – I had a lot of favorites. Fast forward another 6 months and I was taking Harrison’s 1 year photos already! He was on the move, and checking everything out. Still cute as ever, and his mom has THE best taste in clothes for him – I just love his outfits! Another awesome session, and hopefully there will be more to come in the future. I’ve had a great time working with you guys and watching Harrison grow up throughout the year. He just keeps getting cuter and cuter!

Enough talking – here are some photos! A couple of my favorites from each session. Enjoy!

Another session from our 85 degree October weekend, and another family that totally rocked it despite the crazy warm “fall” weather. I don’t think Weston was too keen on having his pictures taken at first, but he eventually warmed up and we had a lot of fun! Just a couple of quick photos for now – more to come. :)

I could have hung with these guys all day – such a fun family, and after we were done, I swear it felt like we’d known each other longer than just that hour (OK – I know, super corny, but it’s true. Sometimes you just click with people). We met up a few weeks ago for some family photos in what was supposed to be a nice, cool, crisp October fall day. In reality, I’m pretty sure it was close to 85 degrees out – LOL! They handled it so well – I was a hot mess by the end, but they all looked fabulous! Ella and I had fun playing in the fields, and Lane has the best hair! Seriously, check it out!

Another session I’m finishing up this week – two of the cutest little guys I’ve ever seen! Seriously, I don’t think they come much cuter than this. I would kill for lashes like theirs, and I’m sure, like any other guy, they will never really appreciate it – LOL! We had a great time looking for grasshoppers (should have brought my macro lens because they were everywhere!) and playing with trucks. And apparently both boys love smarties. :) I had so much fun with this family – can’t wait to finish up the rest of their session! Just a few for now – enjoy!

If you look through old blog posts, you’ll probably see a few with this little guy. I’ve been taking his photos since he was less than a week old. He’s always in a good mood, and always has a big mischievous smile on his face. We took his 18 month photos about a month ago (yeah… I’m a little behind on blogging, but trying hard to get caught up) and I’m pretty sure this was one of the only times he sat still. I’m not even exaggerating. This kid ran for an hour and a half straight – he definitely gave me a workout, but I had a great time chasing him around and watching him explore. This is one of my favorite photos from his session – snuggling with mama.

All the rainy weather the last couple of days has made me realize that the nice, warm sun of summer is probably close to gone for the year. I’m still not giving up my flip flops quite yet…maybe once it starts to snow, but I don’t want to think about that yet.

I took my kids out earlier this summer to try out a new spot. What kid doesn’t want to be dragged out to a field to be photographed, right? Mainly I got photos of them running around, but with enough bribery (this time it was an orange shake and some gum) they sat still for a second and pretended that they like each other. PS – bribery works wonders – if you’re opposed to it, let me know ahead of time. It’s a great last resort. :)

I think I told them to look for grasshoppers to get them to sit for a minute…

This is what I got most of our time out – someone running towards me or away for me. These kids don’t like to sit still for long.

The begging, pleading, and eventual bribery paid off in the end, and I finally got this photo. It’s being printed right now as a 30×40 canvas for our livingroom. I can’t wait to see how it turns out!
