So, I stayed up late two nights in a row working on what was going to be the most awesome Christmas card in the history of Christmas cards. Beautiful, ornate, 5×10 with a pearl finish. Yep, it was going to be gorgeous. Then I realized that Christmas is only a week away, and these things don’t even come with envelopes. By the time I actually got them out Christmas would be long over and my clients would all think I’m crazy. *sigh* I think next year I’ll start working on these in, say, August? I’m horrible with getting out Christmas cards on time (but I am going to do my Christmas shopping today!). Rather than let this awesome card go to waste, I thought I’d at least post it here for you guys to see. Merry Christmas, everyone, and have a great 2012!

Still getting caught up on blog posts from earlier this summer. I figured if I don’t do it soon, it may not happen since almost completely booked up through mid November – the holiday rush is always insanely busy! (I can’t believe I just had to type “holiday rush” – doesn’t seem like it should be that time yet!). Anyways, I met up with Riley and Gavin a while back to get some brother-sister photos. It was looking a little grey outside, but the rain held off and we were still able to get some cute pictures before the sun was completely hidden behind the clouds.

Almost exactly a year ago I photographed these two down by Como.  Bryce was just starting to walk at the time.   We met up again a few weeks ago for some more family photos, and Bryce is now a busy 2 year old on the move, and Teagan was the perfect model, as usual.  :)    Here are just a couple of my favorites from our session.

A few weeks ago I met up with Jon, his sister, and his mom for Jon’s senior pictures on a gorgeous Wednesday evening.  We decided to meet in the Mill City area of Minneapolis – so many awesome spots there, and I was not the only one who thought so – there were at least 3 other photographers down there taking senior pictures, too – LOL!   Definitely a popular spot, but worth the wait at the stairs.  :)  We did find a few spots where there was no one else around, which I always like to do, too.  By the end of the night I had so many photos that I just loved – it was really hard to narrow down which ones to edit.  Just posting a couple of my favorites here.

I had such a great time with you guys – thanks again, and good luck next year, Jon!

I always thought my first time shooting twins would be a pair of newborns, but I was wrong (and is it bad that I feel guilty every time I say/type/think “shooting” anything?  I need to start saying “photographing” twins – it just takes too long).  Anyways, I met up with Kelsey and Sarah last weekend for their senior photos, and they made my job so incredibly easy.  I am used to chasing around toddlers and making silly faces at babies to get a smile – it’s a nice change of pace to have someone who listens and doesn’t need to be bribed with goldfish (or an orange shake and some gum if you’re one of my own kids – that’s what we’re up to now with the bribes.  Soon it will be $20 bills…).  These girls are both absolutely stunning, and were super nice to boot.  I had a great time with them, and I can’t wait to finish up the rest of their photos!  I just had to post a couple before I leave on vacation for the week.  Enjoy!  :)

Finally getting a chance to get caught up a little here!  Our AC went out during the hottest week this summer (110+ heat index), and we ended up moving out for a week instead of staying in our house, which was like a sauna.  I hate saunas.  Seriously.  Miserable.   The AC guy is here putting in a new unit right now.  I’m doing a little happy dance.  Not that I didn’t love staying at my parents for the week (thanks mom and dad!), but it sure is nice to be back home and get some work done.

The week before we left, I had a session with this cutie for her four month photos.  Stella is seriously one of the cutest babies I have ever seen!  And I’m not sure if it was me or the teething, but she was sticking her little tongue out at me most of the time.  I tried not to take it personally.  :)

I had a great time meeting you guys, and I hope you enjoy your photos!

A beautiful name to match a beautiful little face.   Arybella is such a pretty baby, and she gave me a lot of serious looks, but a lot of smiles, too.  I absolutely LOVED her dresses, and I had a great time meeting her, her mom, and grandma while taking her 3 month photos.  Arybella is one of my 1st year babies, so I’m sure you’ll be seeing a lot more of her throughout the year.   :)

I have to start out by saying that this was one of my most favorite sessions ever!  We had so much fun – Julie was a rockstar and up for anything, which meant that I got to try a lot of fun, new things as far as posing and lighting went, and we ended up with a ton of variety.  Only showing a few here, but expect more to pop up on the website in the near future.  :)

A big thanks to Julie’s mom, Sue, for buying Julie and Dave a gift certificate for the maternity session and my first year package.  It’s been so nice talking to Sue, and I’m really glad she introduced me to Julie and Dave – you guys are awesome, and I’m so glad that I’ll get to work with you throughout the year!  Can’t wait to meet your baby girl!  :)

I met up with Aidyn for some photos while her, her mom, and grandma were in town last weekend, and amazing still is not enough to describe this girl.  Aidyn is a heart baby.  She was born with a very complex congenital heart defect (click here for more info on CHD).  At just 6 days old, she had her first open-heart surgery.  At 10 days old, her first heart cath.    Just shy of her first birthday, she had corrective heart surgery, where she emerged with a fully functioning four-chamber heart.  Meeting her now at 3.5 years old, you would NEVER guess that she has gone through so much.  She was smiling, giggling, and running circles around the rest of us (telling us to “hurry up” when we weren’t walking fast enough – LOL!).   I am in awe of her – truly, she is a walking miracle.

In honor of Aidyn and all she’s been through, I will be donating $1 for every blog comment left on this post.   :)  I had a great time meeting up with you guys, and I hope you enjoy your sneak peek!

I’ve never claimed to be a great product photographer, but I finally decided to take some photos of different products I offer. They can all be seen in studio, but for those that schedule on-location sessions, or do their ordering online, these will hopefully help give you an idea of what you’re purchasing. :)

These are my gallery mounted standouts. Available for single photos, or collages like the one shown. No framing, mounting, or matting needed – they come ready to hang. Finished with a beveled edge in either black or white, these are a fantastic way to display your favorite photos.
