You want timeless portraits that will show your family’s love for one another.  I want to create artwork that will instantly bring you back to this place in time whenever you look at it.   Let’s work together to create something beautiful!

THE SESSION FEES

ONE SESSION (newborn, baby, family):  $200

Your portrait session can be held at my St. Paul studio or on location.  The session fee covers the time to plan and photograph your session, as well as use of the studio wardrobe for mothers, babies and children.  It does not include any prints or digital files.   Sessions typically last 45 minutes to 1.5 hours (a little longer for newborn sessions).

THE COLLECTIVE (3  SESSIONS): $500

The Collective is a great choice for those who would like to have their baby photographed at different stages through their first year.  Collective members receive priority scheduling.  The sessions can be scheduled for any three of the following:

  • maternity
  • newborn (includes a complimentary set of birth announcements)
  • 4 months
  • 8 months
  • 1 year
  • 18 months/family session

THE CUSTOM PORTRAIT EXPERIENCE

If you haven’t had the custom portrait experience before, you’ll be pleasantly surprised that I am here to guide you every step of the way.  We can start with a consultation at my studio, where I can get to know you and we can discuss session ideas.  I will help with clothing recommendations if needed, and you will have full access to my studio wardrobe for mothers, babies and children.

Your session will be laid back and will last about an hour (longer for newborn sessions).  I will capture a mix of posed and candid photos, and will probably make a fool of myself at some point trying to get a laugh or two out of you.

About three weeks after your session is the big reveal.  This is everyone’s favorite part!  We’ll schedule a date for you to come to my studio, view your images and place your order (online galleries are also available, but clients typically choose to view their images in person).  Most clients come to the reveal with an idea of how they want to display their images – the fun part is choosing your favorites and your collection gifts.  Since most computers are not calibrated for color or brightness, I will have printed proofs for you to look through so you’ll know exactly what your finished images will look like.  If you plan on purchasing wall prints, I can show you what different sizes will look like on your walls to find the perfect fit.

Your finished artwork will be ready for delivery in approximately four weeks.  Your order can be picked up at the studio (where it will be displayed for you to look over before you take it home) or it can be delivered to your home.    Keep scrolling down to see some of our favorite ways to display your family’s art.

COTTON ART PRINTS

The finest natural cotton Hahnemuhle papers presented in a beautiful custom cut white mat, ready to be framed.  These are museum quality prints that are meant to last for 100 years or more.  They are individually printed, allowed to dry, and hand inspected for accuracy.  They are then sprayed for protection against UV rays, dust, fingerprints, and moisture.  The archival white mats help protect the print from oils on your fingers, and also prevents the print from touching and potentially sticking to the glass when framed.

FRAMED AND MATTED PRINTS

Framing is the optimal way to display and protect your print.  I work with a local framer who uses a process called Conservation Framing, which employs the use of framing materials that have been proven to preserve, protect and maintain art in as close to its original condition as possible.  This includes using UV protective glass,  acid-free and lignin-free conservation quality mat board, proper conservation mounting methods, acid-free foam core backing board, and an acid-free dust cover.  What does this mean to you?  Simply put, your prints will look fantastic, the mat won’t eat away at your print or turn yellow over time, and you will have a beautiful, finished piece of art that comes ready to hang.

I typically use black, white, or cherry wood Italian-made frames, along with glare-resistant glass.  However, there are literally hundreds of frames to choose from, and I will work with you to find the style that best suits your home, cabin, office, or anywhere else you wish to display your art.
