Do these children's heirloom portraits look familiar to you? Maybe you have a similar portrait of yourself as a child, or maybe you've seen a similar portrait of your parents or grandparents hanging framed on a wall. These classic children's portraits are timeless and never go out of style.
Children's heirloom portrait sessions are held at my Lino Lakes studio, and can be booked as a single session with an optional lifestyle add-on. I also host a Children's heirloom event at my studio every spring.
Heirloom portraits can be photographed at any age, but are typically done at 9 months, 18 months, 3 years and 5 years of age. These are ages that will show the most change as your little one grows from a baby to a toddler to a full blown big kid. You don't always realize how quickly these changes happen- their chubby cheeks thinning out, teeth coming in (and then falling out), the big smiles, the shy smiles - but these portraits will capture your little one just as they are in this very moment.
Wardrobe is provided for these portraits. I also have several recommendations for shops if you're looking to purchase your own heirloom outfit for a special occasion.

Heirloom portraits can be booked as individual sessions, or added on to a First Year Collective.
$250 session fee
(no digital files are included in the session fee)
An optional lifestyle portion can be added on to your heirloom session to capture some additional candid photos of your little one in their heirloom outfit. A sibling add-on option is available as well.

what are the best ages for children's heirloom portraits?
Heirloom portraits can be taken at any age, but I find the BEST ages to have these photographed are between 9 months and 6 years of age. Typical ages for heirloom portraits are 9, 18 months, 3 years and 5 years. These ages and stages show the most growth from one session to the next.
how long does aN HEIRLOOM PORTRAIT session last?
These sessions are short and sweet! Most only take 10-15 minutes, but they are not rushed at all. Some babies take longer to warm up, and that's totally okay! We can take all the time we need to ensure you will have plenty of portraits to choose from.
If you add on an optional lifestyle portion, plan for 30-45 minutes total.
CAn family members be included in these sessions?
If you add the optional lifestyle add-on, we can take a couple family photos at the same time. There is also a sibling add-on if you're having heirloom portraits taken of two or more children.
do you offer WARDROBE FOR THESE SESSIONS?
I have heirloom styled wardrobe pieces from 9 months up to 6 years (and a few options beyond those sizes as well!).
Heirloom outfits include peter-pan collared shirts, onesies, and dresses, as well as other styles with and without collars. I also have some white collared button-up shirts for toddlers if you'd like to put a modern twist on their heirloom portrait.
