Can I just start out by saying how much I love it when families keep coming back and choosing me to be their photographer? Seriously. There’s no bigger compliment that a returning client. Ben’s family originally contacted me last year for a family portrait session, including grandma and grandpa (which can be seen HERE). I had such a great time with them, and was excited when they asked me to take their oldest son’s senior photos in Blaine MN.
When we had our initial consultation, I threw out a few ideas of where we could have the session. Once I mentioned Taylors Falls we knew that was going to be the one. Their family has canoed there and hung out at Interstate Park, so that makes it all the more special. Plus, it’s absolutely GORGEOUS! It’s a hike to get out there, but totally worth it. The scenery is some of the prettiest I’ve ever seen, and I was so excited to get out that way again.
I met Ben and his mom on a cloudy Thursday evening, and we got started right away. Ben had several outfit changes and brought along some of his sports equipment for a few photos. Right off the bat I saw a Bob Ross t-shirt and I knew this was going to be an amazing session (I went as Bob Ross for Halloween a couple years ago – true story!). Besides his obvious model looks (made my job way too easy) he is a great kid and we all had a lot of laughs. He brought along a lot of personal favorites – we had some Bob Ross, lacrosse and basketball, some Space Jam, Star Wars and a summer job shirt from All Furniture, complete with work gloves. There may or may not have been some tree hugging involved. Pretty amazing evening if I do say so myself. Here are some of my favorites from Ben’s session.
