I was first contacted by Justin when he was looking for a minimalist pregnancy photographer near Minneapolis for he and his wife.  I could tell from our first emails how excited he was, which I absolutely love!  It’s not too often when the dads are involved in the planning and scheduling, and I honestly love seeing it because one – I can tell right off the bat what an amazing, supportive partner they must be. And two, I know they WANT to be a part of this session, which of course makes my job easier.

We first met for a wardrobe consultation about a week and a half before their maternity session.  It was so great to get to know them a bit before our session date.  The mom-to-be got to try on several outfits and dresses to make sure she had options that she loved and that fit well.  She found quite a few, and we ended up doing four different looks the day of her session.  She looked absolutely stunning in all of them!

The day of our session, we started out with an outfit that held a lot of meaning to her. They also brought along some ultrasound photos, which I always love adding in for maternity sessions.  Her second outfit was also one she brought from home, with a cute denim look.  After that, she switched to something a bit more glam from my studio wardrobe – one of my absolute FAVORITE dresses for maternity and motherhood photos, and then a simple linen look. The session itself was about an hour long, but we were able to get so much variety and different looks in that time!  Maternity sessions are some of my favorite to photograph, and we always end up with quite a few photos.  Sharing some of my favorites below.
