Alex and Jake originally reached out to me when they were looking for a photography studio near Blaine and Lino Lakes with their first baby.  We did maternity, newborn and 1 year photos, and when Alex reached out to let me know they were expecting their second daughter, I was so excited for them!  I always love seeing clients come back year after year – watching these little ones grow is so fun.  When Addy was last in for her one year photos, she hardly had any hair.  Now at 3 years old she has a FULL head of curly hair and so much personality!  Big sis literally stole the show, as they often do.

Ella was just over 2 weeks old for her session.  She has some of the longest eyelashes I’ve ever seen on a newborn!  I could tell she wasn’t curled up tight in the womb, because she did not want her legs curled up when I swaddled her.  And you know what?  That’s 100% ok.  These sessions are all very baby-led, and if they don’t want to lay certain ways or aren’t very “curly” babies, we just go with the flow and still get cute photos.

Baby Ella was mainly happy when she was in mom and dad’s arms.  She slept enough between bottles that we were able to get some sleepy photos, but by that point big sis was over it and we had to make a game out of finding stickers on Ella to get her to be near her for photos.  This is how it goes with toddlers sometimes – it can be totally unpredictable whether or not they’ll want to be in the photos, but I always have patience and eventually we make it work.  These are actually some of my favorite newborn and toddler photos I’ve taken, and a lot of that is because you can just feel big sis’s personality coming through these photos.  I’m posting some favorites below.
