Did you know that almost every photo on my website, whether it’s a mom, baby, or child, is showing some of my studio wardrobe in use? I mention a lot throughout my website and client communications that I have a studio wardrobe available for moms, babies and children to use for all sessions. But you might find yourself asking, what is a studio wardrobe, and do I need this?
I started offering wardrobe options to my clients about 7 years ago. I was starting to photograph more maternity sessions in studio at the time, and moms would comment over and over how hard it was to find dresses that looked nice and fit well with their ever-changing bodies. I wanted to do a model call for an idea I had, and I had seen some gorgeous dresses online that I wanted to use for my model call session. So I bought the dress I had in mind, along with a couple other dresses. It was the first time I had styled an entire photo shoot, and I just LOVED how it turned out! The mom-to-be that I was photographing loved it because she didn’t have to worry about shopping or finding an outfit she loved. She could just show up, try on a couple of different options I had, and that was it! We both loved the experience so much that I soon started buying more dresses and wardrobe pieces in all sizes, and within a few months I felt confident in saying that I had a full studio wardrobe to offer my clients.
There are several ways a studio wardrobe can be beneficial to you as a client:

- Money saved from not having to shop for clothes before you session
- No stressing over having coordinating outfits for the entire family
- No stressing over whether you think something will fit
- No laundry/dry cleaning after your session
My clients love that I have SO many different dresses and wardrobe pieces to choose from. Before your session, we can meet at my studio for a wardrobe consultation so you can view and try on pieces ahead of time to make sure you’re confident in your choice. And since I have wardrobe pieces for babies, toddlers, big kids and even dads – we can coordinate outfits for the entire family at that time! And for those that don’t have time to come in beforehand, I make sure to get everyone’s sizes and have several options out and ready to go the day of their session. That way, they can show up, see what’s available, get changed and are good to go for photos. And because everything I have is very neutral and soft in color, it’s very easy to coordinate outfits for the entire family.
Some of the dresses I have are not something most people would keep in their closets at home. I have several gowns and tulle dresses – not things you’d wear everyday, but that are special occasion pieces. I LOVE having these available for my clients. Many of the dresses I have cost several hundred dollars, and I am happy to have those available so my clients don’t need to spend that money on something they may never wear again.

I have several other brands throughout my wardrobe collection as well, but several of my favorites come from those shops. My collection is constantly changing with new pieces coming in and older pieces going out, so there’s always something new.
A few frequently asked questions:
What sizes do you have available for your clients? For women, I have sizes small to 3X. For men, I have neutral tops size small to XXL. For babies and children, most of what I have available is newborn size up to 6T, but I have quite a bit available in larger sizes as well. A lot of the dresses I have can fit a range of sizes.
Do you offer consultations ahead of time so I can see what’s available? Yes! I love to meet clients before their session and help them pick out coordinating outfits for the entire family. Sometimes they bring in their own favorite dress and then we coordinate the rest of the family’s outfit around that.
Do I have to use your studio wardrobe? No, definitely not. I have several clients who want to wear their own outfits, and that is 1000% ok. This is just a an extra perk I have available for those who want to use it. If you want to shop for your own outfits, I’m always available for feedback and styling help.
