maternity portraits in St. Paul – Jenny + Chris

When Chris first walked into my studio and told me that the night before, he dreamed I made him wear a cashmere scarf and ascot, and that I had them walk down a runway and something about a small bald bellhop showing up…I knew there were going to be a lot of laughs at this maternity session.  I’m not sure if he was nervous about the session, but we got a good laugh out of it either way, and it set the tone for the rest of their session, which was full of smiles, laughter and jokes for their maternity portraits in St. Paul.

I was originally contacted by Jenny’s sister, who wanted to gift her a First Year Collective and came across my website while searching for maternity portraits in St. Paul.  I’m so glad she found me, because Jenny and Chris are two of the most awesome people I’ve ever met.  I’m pretty sure Jenny is the smiliest person I’ve met, and Chris probably isn’t too far behind.  I got to spend a lot of time with these two as I photographed their maternity session at my Vandalia Tower Saint Paul studio, and then the birth of their baby girl, as well as her newborn photos (more on those sessions to come – it’s quite the story!).

This was one of the last sessions I photographed at my St. Paul studio, and I absolutely love how these turned out.  Jenny even brought along some fabric from her grandmother and made it into a dress – how cool is that!?!    These two creative souls are going to be amazing parents, and I can’t wait to share more about their story.  For now, here are some favorites from their maternity session.
