What do you do when you’ve been photographing a family yearly (sometimes twice a year or more!) for the last eight years? You keep finding amazing spots for their sessions to switch things up a bit. Last year’s family session was at the Bea Hive Farm in Minnetrista. Let me tell you, if I lived anywhere near here, I would be shooting here on a regular basis. The farm owner is a photographer friend of mine, and she is kind enough to rent it out to others. Her space is absolutely gorgeous, with tons of options for shooting different looks.
We started off by her adorable little red barn, which has an actual tire swing inside – how cute is that!?! The girls loved it, and it made for some very cute photos. I love how the light coming through the back of the barn frames them. We then headed towards the horse pasture, where there were some beautiful trees and a perfect little spot for family photos. Next we headed over to a fenced in area (I’m assuming for running horses? I know nothing about farms….). The white fence and surrounding greenery were great for photos, and just when I thought it couldn’t get any better – we headed across the street to an amazing hilltop field for yet another look. SO much variety in such a small area – I absolutely love this place and hope I can photograph more sessions there in the future (clients and potential clients – if you’re looking for a Minnetrista family photographer, keep me and this place in mind for your next session. Totally worth the drive!).
Tracie was a gracious host, and when we were done with the session she brought out feed so my little clients could give some to our other new feathery friends. I think that may have been the highlight of their evening.
