This session was for some last minute senior portraits for Andrew at Taylors Falls. Since it was late in the year, I knew the colors would be gorgeous there, and they didn’t disappoint! I have photographed this family a few times now, and it’s always so great seeing them.
I pulled into the parking lot, and it legit started snowing like a blizzard. It got really dark, really fast, and the snow was coming down hard. I got there an hour early because I wanted to make sure everything was good there since I didn’t have a chance to check it out the week before (you never know what kind of construction or other issues you might run into). While I was waiting in the parking lot, it snowed heavy on and off a couple times, but by the time our session started at 3pm, the snow/sleet had stopped and the sun was even peeking out! Fall in Minnesota can be so unpredictable.
There were hardly any other people there, which was a nice change from the usual. We had to work around the wetness of everything a bit, but I came prepared with blankets and layers of clothing, and they brought hand and feet warmers (so smart!). The forecast didn’t say anything about rain or snow (shocking), but it really worked out nicely. The sun reflecting off the rain drops on the fall leaves made for a beautiful orange backdrop, which happened to match Andres’s Famington Tigers jacket he brought with. Even the dog got in on these photos, and we had to of course take an updated family photos while we were here.
