Fall family photos in White Bear Lake

I’ve been photographing this family for over 10 years now, and I have absolutely loved seeing both these girls from from tiny newborns into big kids and pre-teens.  For this session we decided to take their fall family photos in White Bear Lake at Tamarack Nature Center.  This is a VERY popular place in the fall – both for families visiting and for photographers.  There is am AMAZING park for kids to play at, but luckily it’s pretty well hidden by trees so the kids aren’t distracted by it until after our session is over.

Because it is such a beautiful and busy nature preserve, I try to avoid photographing sessions here on weekends. If you don’t mind having to work around a lot of other people, it is well worth looking into this location for your fall family photos.  In October, there are gorgeous hues of green, yellow, red and orange, and the lighting is beautiful no matter which area you photograph in.

This family always comes dressed to impress.  I absolutely LOVE their outfits and I’m so excited to see what they’re wearing each yet.  For this session, their outfits perfectly complimented the rich autumn hues.  We had a great time chatting and catching up, and I love photographing their wall-hanger photos, as well as all their silly/candid moments.  They bring so much joy that I really leave feeling happier each time I’m photographing them.
