I photographed Alexander’s newborn photos back in October at his home in Hugo. I don’t do a lot of in-home, lifestyle type newborn sessions, but I really do love them. The lighting is totally different (using natural light instead of my studio lights), and it gives a different look, which I really like. More than that, though, is that these type of sessions show a more personal look into the baby’s life. I loved taking photos of baby Alexander wearing a puppy hat that a family friend knit, photos of him snuggling with his mama, and photos of his nursery (which, by the way, has the most awesome view!). Alexander was 2 weeks old when I photographed him, and he was a week overdue, so he was pretty alert for most of his session. Every time he’d start to fall asleep, he would pop one eye open, like he wanted to keep an eye on me. It was hilarious! Towards the end of his newborn session, though, he finally fell asleep. They always do. :)
I loved how you captured the details. I know I am always torn between natural light and studio lights also. I love the lighting.
Melissa these are so lovely. That first one with his little smirk- priceless!
Oh, look at that look he’s giving you. Absolutely precious!! I love the details and especially adore the black and white of him in the basket. :)
