I was originally contacted by Amy when she was looking for a Dayton MN family photographer.  We met at my studio for a consultation, where she told me a bit about her family, and what she was wanting for her session.  Originally, we weren’t sure where to have the session, but she mentioned that we could possibly have it at their home.  I happened to have a session out at Henry’s Woods in Rogers, which wasn’t far from her home, so I called to see if I could swing by to check out their property.

When I pulled up, I knew we had to do the session at their home.  The property was a photographer’s dream!  Beautiful buildings, a barn, fields, gardens, and more.  It was absolutely perfect.

The day of their session was gloomy and rainy, so we ended up postponing it a few days and got a gorgeous sunny (and windy!) 70 degree fall evening.  Their oldest wasn’t wanting anything to do with photos at first, but he eventually warmed up and ended up having some fun.  Including their 11 year old dog certainly helped with that.  Rufus was full of energy – I would have never guessed he was 11 years old!  We ended up having a great evening, and got some gorgeous family photos.  Here are some of my favorites:
