Motherhood is something near and dear to my heart. I’m a mom to two kids who I love more than anything in the world, and who are growing up WAY too fast. I miss the baby stage. I miss the toddler stage. And in a few years I’m sure I’m going to be saying I miss this “big kid” stage. I was getting a little sentimental a while back and started going through personal photos, and realized that there are a ton of photos of the kids, but not many with me in them other than our selfies together. I mean, I have been around all this time, but you wouldn’t necessarily be able to tell if you were looking through our photos albums (yes, I still print my photos and I love it!). This prompted me to focus more on motherhood portraiture. I think most moms are not photographed often, either because they’re the ones behind the camera or they’re just not comfortable in front of the camera. I want to change that.
I offered my first Motherhood Simplicity sessions this year, and they were a huge hit! I have a studio wardrobe available for moms, babies and children (many pieces can be seen here: https://melissakleinphotography.com/studio-wardrobe/) so it’s easy to have something beautiful and flattering to wear, even if you just want a few quick photos with you and your babies. I encourage all moms to hop in for a few photos during all newborn and baby sessions, and I will definitely be offering these motherhood simplicity sessions again in the future.
