Jen and Chris first contacted me when they were looking for a St. Paul maternity photographer. After one short session with them, I felt like I had known them for years. Crazy, right? They must have felt the same way, because after their maternity session they asked me to photograph the birth of their baby girl (!!!). I am not a birth photographer, but they said I was the only one they’d feel comfortable with for these photos, so of course I said yes. More on that in another post…
When they first walked in, Chris mentioned that he had a dream the night before that I made him wear a cashmere scarf and ascot around his neck, and they had to walk down a runway. Also something about a small bald bellhop that showed up. Who wants to take a stab at that dream interpretation? We all had a good laugh, and the rest of the session brought lots more laughs.
These are seriously two of the warmest, smiliest, happiest people I have ever met. I had such a great time with them, and really got to know them over the following months. This post is a long time coming, and was photographed in my old St. Paul studio. Jenny brought in a tub dress made from some fabric from her grandmother (how cool is that?) and then some causal clothes for the rest of the session. She also borrowed a lace coverup from my studio wardrobe collection. I just love the vibe from these two, and seriously can’t wait to show more from their birth and newborn sessions.
