5 week old newborn photos

I met this little guys when his parents contacted me looking for a photographer to take 5 week old newborn photos.  I was so happy they found me!  I typically photograph newborns anywhere from one to two weeks, but because I have a more natural, baby-led approach to newborn photography, older babies are totally fine!  I do tell parents that the older babies are, the less “squishy” they are, and they might not sleep much (if at all) but they are still adorable, and your baby will never be this small again.  It’s amazing how much change and growth happens in that first year, and I love being able to photograph these memories for my clients.

This was the first newborn session I photographed in my new Lino Lakes studio.  I just love how bright and airy everything is – so much beautiful natural light!  I keep the studio stocked with tons of light colored blankets, fabrics, clothing and wraps, so you never need to worry about what to bring. I don’t use props, and I like to keep things simple and natural.  One of my favorites are my muslin wraps from Aden + Anais.  I think I use them just about every session!  Here are some favorites from this 5 week old newborn session.
