I was first contacted by Holly for a maternity session when she was about 30 weeks along in her pregnancy and looking for a Woodbury baby photographer. When she came in for her wardrobe consultation, she mentioned that her husband was actually the one who wanted her to have a maternity session, which I thought was really sweet! She just wanted to be able to show up and not have to worry about anything, which was music to my ears. My main goal for my sessions is for you to have a relaxed and stress-free session. I’ll take care of the wardrobe planning (including using pieces from my studio wardrobe for the entire family) and coordinating a hair and makeup artist – you just need to show up and enjoy your time at the studio.
This family signed up for my First Year Collective, which includes three sessions over the course of a year or so. They chose to do a maternity session, a newborn session, and a one year session. For the maternity and newborn sessions, we met an hour before session time at my studio so Annie from SOCOJO Artistry could do Holly’s hair and makeup. Annie does an AMAZING job creating a natural, beautiful look for my clients.
These are some of my favorite sessions I’ve photographed. I’m sure you’ve seen Holly’s gorgeous maternity photos on my website, and I have a printed sample from Ayden’s newborn session up at my studio. He slept like a champ for his newborn session, and was SO squishy and curly for his photos! He loved being swaddled, and had the most amazing cheeks and dimples, and well as long dark lashes.
When I saw him again for his one year photos – he had grown SO much! I always love to see how much babies change in that first year. He was a busy boy, full of laughs and smiles. And those dimples were still there – too cute!
Here are some favorites from all three of their sessions:
