I first met Cristen when she contacted me looking for a Twin Cities maternity photographer.  At the time, her and her family were living 3.5 hours away in Wisconsin, so I was absolutely honored that she traveled all the way to the Twin Cities for a session with me.

We had a consultation before her session (her doctor was in the cities so it worked out great).  Talking to Cristen felt like talking to an old friend.  We both love the outdoors and both have a love of huskies!  I have Siberian huskies (and volunteer taking photos for Adopt A Husky MN).  They have Alaskan Huskies and do sled dog racing.  At the time of our session, they were living in a small cabin, and mentioned that my studio was about four times the size of where they were currently living!  They were in the process of looking for a new home – more to come on that in another blog post, because it’s quite the story!

The three of them stayed at a friends house the night before our session.  Annie at SOCOJO Artistry did Cristen’s hair and makeup, and she looked amazing!  Cristen borrowed a few dresses from my studio wardrobe collection and she was absolutely glowing.  They love to dance and hang out as a family, so David brought his guitar along and Birdie loved dancing to the Shawn The Sheep theme song.  Shawn the Sheep was one of my kids favorite shows growing up, so that brought a big smile to my face.  Birdie was so much fun – full of energy and smiles, but got tired towards the end and wanted to snuggle, which was perfect for some cozy, snuggly photos toward the end of our session.
