I absolutely love watching babies grow and change over their first year, and it was so much fun getting to know this family from the time E was a tiny (two week early) newborn to her first birthday. E’s family contacted me when they were lookin for a St. Louis Park baby photographer, and they ended up signing up for my First Year Collective, which means I got to see her three times for photos in her first year. Her family chose to do newborn, 6 months and 1 year photos, which is pretty typical for a First Year Collective, photographing all the big milestones.
Since E was a born a bit earlier than expected, her newborn session ended up being two days before her actual due date. I actually love it when this happens, because babies typically sleep great, and E was no exception. She slept through her entire newborn session, even after we tried to wake her up for some awake photos. The dresses mom chose from the studio wardrobe looked absolutely amazing on her, and E was photographed in a few outfits her grandma gave her, too.
For E’s 6 month session, she wasn’t quite sitting up unassisted yet, but we were still able to get a lot of cute photos. She had changed so much! She loved being on her back and grabbing/playing with her toes.
By her one year photo session, E was already waking and saying a few words. She was such a ham, and absolutely loved playing with the pillows on the bed at the studio. She was happy but BUSY – like a lot of one year olds – which can sometimes be tough for photos but I feel like their personality really shows at this age. Mom and dad brought in a cake from Nothing Bundt Cakes, and it was a huge hit. I haven’t had a baby get that into their cake smash in a long time – always fun to watch (and photograph!).
