When I initially connected with this wonderful family, they mentioned wanting to set up a session for family photos in studio. About a week before their scheduled session, they came out to my studio for a consultation. This gave us the perfect opportunity to meet ahead of time, discuss wardrobe choices, and brainstorm session ideas. Their vision for their upcoming fall session leaned towards a more formal aesthetic, with the end goal of a large framed piece to display over their mantle.
When the day of their session finally arrived, I knew it was going to be great as soon as they walked into the doors of my Lino Lakes studio. The family’s outfit choices were perfect for the photographic style they wanted to acheive. While some of the shots were more posed than what I typically do, we also captured some spontaneous, candid moments, including individual portraits of each of the kids engaged in their unique interests. Throughout the session, we explored various combinations, even photographing each boy with both parents—a heartfelt gesture that ensures cherished memories for the future.
To add an extra layer of warmth and charm to the family portraits, they decided to include their one-year-old boxer pup. I always find it heartwarming when families include their beloved pets in their sessions, recognizing their significant role within the family. And of course, I made sure to get some photos of their pup Ruby by herself, too.
It was hard to narrow them down, but here are some favorites from our time together for their family photos in studio:
