As a Twin Cities studio newborn photographer, I absolutely love it when clients choose me to document this special time for them. I especially love it when clients are a part of my First Year Collective, and I get to watch their babies grow and learn throughout the year.
Speaking of First Year Collective members…do you remember THIS gorgeous maternity session? Mom had her baby two weeks later, and she came in for newborn photos at two weeks old. I was told the day before our session that they named their baby girl Fern, which I thought was just the cutest! I knew I needed to incorporate some greenery into her newborn session, so I went to my neighbors and asked if I could have a few of their fern leaves. I washed and dried them, and they added a sweet touch to her photos.
Can you guess how Fern was in her mom’s stomach after looking at the photos below? Fern was a breech baby, and she had at least one foot up by her face for most of her newborn session. She was awake a bit at first, but then she slept hard for the rest of her session. She had a beautiful fuzzy head of hair, and lots of smiles.
Mom chose a Free People dress from my studio wardrobe collection, and it looked absolutely beautiful on her! Here are some of my favorites from Fern’s studio newborn session:
