A lot of clients come across my website while searching for a Minneapolis newborn photography studio. Although I’m not directly in Minneapolis, I’m close enough where clients come from all over the state (and some from out of state!) for their newborn photos and some, like Louella here, come back several times over the course of their first year.
Louella (or “Lou” as she’s lovingly called) is another one of my First Year Collective clients. This is my most popular option for expecting moms. They can choose 3 or 4 sessions, which include maternity, newborn, 6 months (sitting unassisted) and/or 1 year photos. The First Year Collective also comes with $100 off any collection after each session, as well as a complimentary set of birth announcements. It’s a great way to make sure you have all your important milestones on my schedule. On top of that, you’ll end up with a set of cohesive photos from that first year that will look great on a wall or in an album together! After all, that is the ultimate goal. Everyone wants photos to share online, but I love creating beautiful artwork for my clients – something that they can look at on their walls every day, or a beautiful album to flip through as their baby gets older. Most clients get a mixture of both digital and artwork – it’s the best of both worlds!
Lou’s parents first came to my photography studio for a wardrobe consultation prior to their maternity session so we could meet, pick out wardrobe items, and chat about session ideas. Mom chose one of my favorite green dresses from ASOS, and it looked absolutely amazing on her! She also wore her beautiful wedding dress for some of the maternity photos, and brought with a couple other meaningful pieces to incorporate into our sessions.
These two didn’t know if they were having a boy or a girl until Lou was born, which I always think is SO amazing! One of life’s biggest surprises for sure. Lou came in for her session when she was 17 days old, and was awake and content most of the time. Sometimes babies don’t sleep much, and that’s totally ok. The sessions are very baby-led, so if baby is awake and happy, we’ll roll with it.
Lou also came in around 3 months for a quick motherhood session, and then we did her final First Year Collective session at one year. It was amazing to see how much she had changed in (what felt like) a short amount of time. She was busy and full of smiles for her one year session. So much personality showing already, and it was an absolute honor to document her growth this first year.
