This was my second time photographing this amazing family. We originally photographed their maternity session at my studio (photos from that session can be seen here). Then came the start of the pandemic, with everything being shut down. I was not able to photographer their baby girl when she was born, but as soon as restrictions were lifted we planned an outdoor session for her 3 month photos. We decided to have their family photos at the Sherburn national wildlife refuge.
This was my first outdoor session of the year. We got lucky in that it was an absolutely gorgeous, perfect evening. We met at the Sherburne national wildlife refuge, which was about an hour drive for me, but SO worth it! This place is very special to their family – Phil proposed to Michaela here 4 years earlier! It was such a magical place. I took a drive around after our photos and saw swans, deer, baby geese, and even a beaver! Definitely will be coming back here with my own family sometime to explore more.
Their session was a combination of 3 month and family photos. Big sister was not super into photos at first, but big brother did amazing with both of his sisters. Half way through the session we got a bit of a sun shower, even though there were no clouds over us. It was the strangest thing, but we went with it and had some fun in the sprinkling rain. This is such a fun, loving family and I really enjoyed photographing them while they snuggled, played and explored. Here are some of my favorites from our session:
