Courtney first contacted me when she was looking for a maternity photographer near Minneapolis.  She had the absolute sweetest things to say in her original email, and I just knew she would be great to work with.  She opted to have her hair professionally done for the session, which is always a great idea. I work with some very talented hair and makeup artists, and they do a fantastic job bringing out your natural beauty.  Plus, it’s fun to get pampered once in a while, isn’t it?  For this session, Sarah with Sarah Elizabeth Artistry came out to the studio.  She worked her magic, adding some beautiful soft waves that were perfect for these pregnancy photos.

Before her session, Courtney came to my studio for a consultation.  I offer this for all of my sessions, and I think it’s a great way to meet beforehand, get a feel for parking and where the studio is so you’re not stressed about it the day of your session, and the best part – view and try on wardrobe pieces.  This way I have have them steamed and ready to go the day of our session.

One of the dresses Courtney chose is a gorgeous blue maxi dress from Free People, which is part of my studio wardrobe collection that I offer to all of my clients.  Moms especially love having this option, and I am constantly shopping for new pieces.  I have over 100 gorgeous dresses to choose from, and it makes the experience that much more fun (plus you don’t have to shop for your session – which is one less thing to stress about).  I currently only have women’s wardrobe pieces shown on my website, but I also have a wide variety of clothing options for babies and children as well, from newborn sizes up to 12/14.  I even have some neutral tops for dads!  I don’t require anyone to wear what I offer, but it is a definitely perk if you want to use it.  I absolutely love styling families, and clothing options can make such a difference in the final outcome and feel of your photos.

Here are some of my favorites from Courtney’s maternity session:
